Building a Real Estate Power Team and Network
You might be strong and often try to do everything on your own. You may not want to ask for help because you can accept any challenge. It is so important as a real estate investor to establish a strong and knowledgeable network of people that make up your Real Estate Power Team. You want to ensure you have all the right people and a deep bench to make your real estate investing efforts run as smoothly as possible.
One important lesson to learn when you are first starting out is you do not have to know everything, you just need to put together a team that can do everything you need! If you want to become a successful real estate investor, you can do it but you need a plan. You can’t do it all yourself. Are you trying to create a business or are you just creating another job for yourself? That is a huge question you need to ask yourself objectively as you build your real estate team.
You need to understand the best use of your time should be putting together the deals and having others help you in areas that will save you time and effort. You may have seen the TV show “The Profit.” In this show, Mr. Marcus Lemonis will always stress the importance of People, Product and Process. In Real Estate, your product is Real Estate. You just need to identify and build the best Power Team and network to continue taking your real estate business to the next level! If you break everything down to a simple process, it will become a routine and a system.
Take a look at the McDonald’s Hamburgers system. Everywhere you go in the world you have a good idea of what that McDonald’s burger will be like. The bun, hamburger patty and even the pickle. McDonald’s has a system. As a real estate business, you need a system too! A process that can guide you through everything you do. A system and process that can intertwine people to help you get to that next level. I would encourage all of you to build your real estate business each day by looking at ways you can have a competitive advantage. This advantage often comes with having the best people and the best systems as your business grows.
A few suggestions for you to network and build your Real estate Investing Power Team would be to:
- Join real estate clubs and groups in your local area and network, network, network
- Continue to build your network through social media like LinkedIn
- Ask your current Power Team members for referrals of people they know that can help you
- Each day always ask other people you meet for referrals that can assist you with your real estate efforts
- Have goals each month of the number of new contacts you would like to establish
Continue to build your Power Team and Network with layers of people that can assist you. In sports, you may hear about the first string, second string and third string of players. Your Power Team and Network should have this type of depth and layers as well. The deeper your bench the greater chance you will have a twinning in the game of real estate! Look at each day as an opportunity to build your real estate business. At the end of the day, can you look back and feel good about one significant thing you did today to build your business if you can, you might just be on your way of getting to that next level.
Remember every day you need to say and repeat…THIS IS MY BUSINESS! Keep working on ways to make your business better. Each day do one thing to get you closer to your dreams because if you do today what others are not willing to do, then tomorrow you can do those things that others are only dreaming about doing!
