Job or Career vs. Real Estate Investor – Hello friends, how is your day going today at your job? Have you been watching the clock, even just a little? Some entrepreneurs often have a battle each day they need to fight when they get up after the streaming alarm clock gets turned off. The battle I am talking about is the My Job vs. My Real Estate Investing? It is a daily fight and often you have so much back and forth to think about. You may want to stop battling because there is often time for both. The near is moving along and you feel it is another year and you knew this year would be different, right? How is your week going? Do you look forward to Mondays or dread Monday morning? Are you creating opportunities for yourself or just getting through the day, week and month? Are you excited to be doing what you are doing in a job or career or are you just doing it for the paycheck?
We meet many people from all over the country and so many people want more than their daily job or 9 to 5. These people may discover real estate and want to begin investing. As you begin this journey, you should have a plan mapped out like a GPS to know where you are starting and where you are going. It is okay to have a detour along the way as long as you stay on track.
We believe people sometimes feel they have to make a drastic change to make real estate investing work. Would 1 deal in the next 3 months change your life? How about a few deals this year? It all starts with one, that first real estate deal! Try to focus on doing one deal whether it be wholesaling or a buy, fix and flip. Start out slow and build your knowledge and watch your confidence grow! The key to the first deal is not to totally focus on hitting a home run and making a boat load of cash. The first deal is getting something you can profit on and make money. That first deal is about making money and building your confidence to go onto a second and third real estate deal!
Never be confused that you have to give up one thing to do another. Often we hear people say they just do not have the time for real estate. Can they sacrifice something today for the potential benefit of a lifetime? Its all about the small effort of doing things that add up to make a difference. Take small steps not huge leaps.
What can you do today to help your real estate business? Are you passing out business cards? Are you looking at the local newspaper everyday? Are you postings ads on Craigslist or looking through the Craigslist ads on a regular basis? Do you believe in putting out bandit signs? If not, why? Think about what your excuse could be and understand why you see so many in your local area. If they did not work would people actually do them? They work, so just do it!
Small efforts can lead to a big result. Find the right people to help you build your real estate network. It is okay to make a list and work your list each week. It is okay to try things that do not work and you can then try other things for your real estate marketing. Not all your marketing has to be expensive there are plenty of options that are cheap or even free such as running ads in Craigslist or making signs that you can post around town!
Do things different this year, work a little harder, leverage the time of others to help you and stay laser focused on your goals! Each day do one thing to get you closer to your dreams because if you do today what others are not willing to do, then tomorrow you can do those things that others are only dreaming about doing! Go make your real estate dreams a reality! Even as an adult it is okay to have dreams! Follow your real estate passion and make a change to make it happen! Live your life in the moment with no regrets! Believe and Achieve! – Joe Jurek
